E-commerce platform development

Oakline Goods' store was losing mobile buyers at checkout. I rebuilt the storefront around speed and trust — and checkout completion rose with it.

The challenge

A checkout that leaked revenue

Analytics showed the drop-off clearly: slow product pages, a five-step checkout, and no guest option. Mobile shoppers — 70% of traffic — abandoned at nearly twice the desktop rate.

The approach

Speed, then simplicity

I re-platformed the frontend for instant page loads, collapsed checkout from five steps to two with guest purchase, and added reviews, stock signals and clear shipping info where hesitation lived.

Deliverables & outcome

01

Storefront rebuild

Product grids, search, filters and product pages tuned for thumb-first mobile shopping.

02

One-step checkout

Guest purchase, live shipping rates, discount codes and payment through a verified gateway.

03

Owner tooling

Editable catalogue, order emails and a dashboard the team learned in a single session.

Result

Completed orders up 22%, support tickets down

Completed orders rose 22% while "where is my order" messages fell by a third — the new tracking and emails answered them first.
